In 2018, Saudi Arabia introduced the Haramain High-Speed Railway, a train service designed to enhance the pilgrimage journey between Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah. The trains are among the world’s top 10 fastest, reaching speeds of up to 300 kph. This initiative has reduced travel time between Makkah and Madinah from a four-to-five-hour car journey to a mere two-and-a-half-hour train ride, and also relieved traffic congestion between these cities. Here, you’ll find all the essential information you need to know about this train!
